I currently provide services within the comfort of clients' homes, telehealth, and or within the community. About Me
Aisha Delfaus, PMHNP-BC, RYT-200
I'm a compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Yoga Teacher, and Wellness Mentor. My passion is to care for individuals with empathy and curiosity to help guide those seeking mental health support toward a state of peace and harmony.
My formal psychiatric training was established almost a decade ago and I currently hold a Master's Degree in Science as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Hunter College School of Nursing. My foundational experience as a mental health provider began in the inpatient and forensic settings, as a psychiatric registered nurse. This experience paved the way to becoming the lead nurse at Ellenhorn, a private Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) team. Throughout my career, I've consistently delivered a diverse level of mental health services to individuals struggling with varied mental health challenges. These challenges encompass a broad spectrum of mental health concerns, that include depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, and other significant states of mind and mood. While not overlooking that these mental health concerns are often intertwined with substance use, medical conditions, and psychosocial challenges. I further enriched my training as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, in the outpatient setting. Here, I provide comprehensive mental health care, encompassing wellness,
medication management, and psychotherapy.
I bring a robust range of experience and knowledge to help navigate your path. I aim to nurture the mind, body, and soul through a holistic and humanistic approach. Collaborating with you in a compassionate, kind, and open-minded manner is at the core of my practice. My approach is deeply rooted in understanding the unique complexities of each individual's situation, allowing me to tailor a collaborative journey with you toward
healing and growth.
Creating Zen
In addition to my role as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I prioritize integrating my training as a yoga teacher and wellness mentor. My wellness journey has taken me around the world in search of wisdom and holistic practices to enrich the care I provide. Over the years, I've wholeheartedly embraced various wellness and spiritually oriented trainings, each contributing to my holistic approach.
This journey commenced with my immersive yoga teacher training experiences at Yogamaya in NYC, Durga's Tiger School in Ecuador, and Moksha Yoga School in Peru, where I delved deep into the teachings that form the essence of yoga. I've also completed breathwork training in Peru's Sacred Valley, to help connect the incredible potential of breath in healing. In Guatemala, I explored the profound healing power of sound healing, a therapeutic modality that has since become an integral part of my practice. Additionally, I've trained in Thailand, where I completed a Thai yoga massage training, an art that emphasizes the powerful connection between touch and healing.
